Abstract
I licheni sono organismi simbionti frutto dell’unione di un un organismo eterotrofo (fungo) con uno autotrofo (alga). Questo equilibrio biologico necessita della compartecipazione di altri organismi chiave (batteri, virus) che vanno a comporre una struttura microabitativa di compromesso il cui sviluppo, apparentemente unitario, cessa al mancare di anche uno dei contributi sovracitati.
Al contrario la società umana è soggetta a un continuo rimodellamento sociale dovuto alla perdita costante dei suoi componenti. Alla frontiera tra la presenza e l’assenza di ogni animale-uomo esistono i riti funebri che prevedono metodologie di segregazione fisica tra i viventi ed il corpo deceduto ma riavvicinamento immateriale con lo spirito o la memoria del dipartito.
Necro Nexus è uno studio sulla natura biologico-alchemica dell’incontro e dell’interconnessione tra viventi. Presenta stampe su carta termica dei licheni crescenti sulle antiche tombe del cimitero di Orsara contornate da un reticolo asimmetrico di elementi medico-laboratoriali (garze, fili da sutura) immersi in sostanze reattive a luce e calore. Le colorazioni monocromatico-funeree si illuminano di toni fluorescenti alla reazione a mimare un mondo onirico-spiritico. L’interconnessione diventa la luce del fuoco come frontiera pratica e percepita con il non vivente.

Abstract
Lichens are symbiotic organisms resulting from the union of a heterotrophic organism (fungus) with an autotrophic one (algae). This biological balance requires the participation of other key organisms (bacteria, viruses), which form a compromise microhabitat whose seemingly unified development ceases when even one of the aforementioned contributions is missing.
Human society, on the other hand, is subject to continuous social reshaping due to the constant loss of its members. At the boundary between the presence and absence of each human-animal, funeral rites involve methods of physical segregation between the living and the deceased, but an immaterial reconciliation with the spirit or memory of the departed.
Necro Nexus is a study of the biological-alchemical nature of the encounter and interconnection between living beings. It features thermal paper prints of lichens growing on the ancient tombs of the Orsara cemetery, surrounded by an asymmetrical grid of medical-laboratory items (gauze, sutures) immersed in substances reactive to light and heat. The monochrome, funereal colors light up with fluorescent hues mimicking a dreamlike, spiritual world. Interconnection becomes the light of fire as a practical and perceived boundary with the non-living.
