Ursa Major or “Great Bear” is the third largest constellation and one of the most visible due to the magnitude (brightness) of its stars. By swabbing the telescopes of the Abruzzo Abstronomical Observatory this group of stars was moved from the celestial vault to the culture medium of a petri dish. Every dish grew differently due to the distinct microbiotic load of each object and, while some retained the initial imprint, others lost it in their development but for a few specific points of contact. The work was displayed both as a series of photograph and projected on the wall with a sistem of optical lenses.
