Illustrations and material collections of plants fall within one of the oldest forms of botanical compendium: the herbarium. The herbarium was born in Italy around 100 BC. and then disappeared shortly after the 1900s given that other forms of visual reproduction such as photography had created and disseminated illustrated books to supplant these works of Emanuense craftsmanship. The decreasing and sporadic interest of the population in the collection and use of wild plants has certainly contributed to the herbarium sinking into oblivion. This has also caused a change in the morphological identification criteria of plants within the courses of studies, pushing them towards descriptive rather than visual practices. For this reason I created a series of illustrations showing medicinal plants accompanied by their scientific name, chemical composition and structure of the bud. These illustrations are reproduced on paper and canvas with natural extracts and pH indicators. All the works were displayed together.
